El Festival Internacional de Cine y Video Indígena llegó a su fin

Diversas muestras de películas y actividades se realizaron en Medellín y localidades de Antioquia en el cierre del XI Festival internacional de cine y video indígena cuya sede este año fue Colombia. Luego de la clausura en Bogotá el 30 de septiembre el festival se trasladadó a Medellín del 3 al 6 de octubre con todas sus proyecciones audiovisuales.
La Universidad de Antioquia publicó en su sitio informativo y redes sociales que: “Del 3 al 6 de octubre, Medellín vivirá este festival de cine que con el lema: Por la vida, imágenes de resistencia, que tuvo y tendrá como objetivo fortalecer los procesos de comunicación de los pueblos indígenas y promover la producción audiovisual como herramienta de divulgación de la realidad y los derechos indígenas”, de acuerdo a la información proporcionada por la organización del Festival, cuya clausura fue el sábado pasado a las 18.30 horas en el teatro Lido .
La casa de estudios superiores señala: “La razón de que el Festival se lleve durante este año en Colombia es porque el país atraviesa, en relación con las comunidades indígenas, por tres problemas fundamentales que son los mismos ejes temáticos. Estos problemas fundamentales, según David Sierra Márquez, coorganizador del Festival en Medellín, son:
Riesgo de extinción: Más o menos 35 pueblos indígenas están al borde de la desaparición; Minería en sitios sagrados naturales: Se busca hacer una ley para que los sitios sagrados naturales de los pueblos indígenas colombianos no puedan ser utilizados por la minería ni por los megaproyectos; Unión y resistencia: Campaña global por la resistencia y la unión de todos los pueblos indígenas en América Latina.
Durante los 4 días que el Festival estuvo en Medellín se proyectaron tanto trabajos de ficción y animación como documentales y docuficciones (sinergia entre el documental y el argumental). Contó con proyecciones especiales, como Sikumi–On the Ice, película de Alaska dirigida por Andrew Maclean, y tres filmes de Oceanía: Flecha de Raymond Kelly, Upi Mop Le de Meriam Mir y John Harvey (Australia) y Agua de Robert Poywhare (Nueva Zelanda). Así mismo, El oro o la vida de Álvaro Revenga (Guatemala) y el estreno de la película Insurgentes de Jorge Sanjines (Bolivia).
El festival en Medellín, organizado por la Organización Indígena de Antioquia (OIA) y la Coordinación de Cine y Comunicación Indígena (CLACPI), contó además con diversos espacios públicos de análisis, opinión y propuesta tendiente a visibilizar la realidad que viven diversos sectores de los Pueblos Indígenas, sus derechos, los derechos de la mujer indígena, la comunicación y los proyectos de invasión de industrias extractivas, entre otras temáticas.
El Festival en Colombia
Cabe mencionar que el festival de cine indígena en su XI versión se realiza por primera vez en Colombia y ha contado con diversas muestras en las diferentes regiones del País como La Guajira, en territorio Wayúu; la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, en territorio Kankuamo; Tierradentro en Cauca; Norte del Cauca; Nariño, Manizales, Cota, Chía y de Bogotá donde se realizaron eventos centrales que finalizó el 30 de septiembre, llegó a Medellín el 3 de Octubre para finalizar el 6 del mismo mes.
El festival ha contado en este último tiempo con más de 75 pueblos indígenas provenientes de 14 países del mundo, 120 invitados nacionales e internacionales y 65 producciones audiovisuales, de las cuales más de 15 son producciones y coproducciones colombianas.
El XI Festival internacional de cine y video de los Pueblos Indígenas se enfoca en tres ejes temáticos: territorio y sitios sagrados, resistencia y lucha de los pueblos indígenas y pueblos en vía de extinción.
